Goldilocks and “The Three Bears” is a story most of us grew up with and now it can be applied to your business. In the children’s tale, Goldilocks comes across several things that fall into the too much, too little, and just right category. So apt is this sequence of events that it has become known as the Goldilocks principle.

Xerox has identified yet another area where the Goldilocks principle can be applied. Businesses across the nation vary in size, service, and product, however the driving force in the United States is none other than midsized businesses. Midsized businesses are classified as a business with the average annual revenues ranging from $50 million to $1 billion.

“While accounting for only about 3% of the nation’s companies today, they are responsible for 1/3 of the country’s jobs—as well as 1/3 of the Gross Domestic Product.”

There are several reasons why midsized businesses are pushing the economy and providing jobs. Merging small business attitudes with big business ideas blends the best of both worlds. Adapting with the times is a key factor in midsized business success. The ability to change with technology puts midsized businesses ahead of the times. They can make changes faster than a big company and smoother than a small business.
